At Lakeview Eyecare, we are able to care for your eyes at all stages of your life.
With school-age children we provide evidence-based educationally-focussed care to ensure your children's eyes are working at their maximum potential. Poor vision or even just a visual system under stress can affect your child's ability to learn effectively. We have a comprehensive PDF you can download that will give you detailed advice on what to look out for and what is involved in an eye examination for your child.
We also provide vision training for many eye conditions.
Even children as young as 3 months can have an eye examination if you have concerns. We of course won't be doing the full test that's done on adults, but even with children that young it's possible to determine whether they have anything affecting their potential to see clearly.
As children become teenagers, they often become very self-conscious of their spectacles. We have extensive experience in providing contact lenses in this age group. The change in your child's confidence can be amazing.
As we age, we are at increasing risk of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. At Lakeview Eyecare, we ensure that we stay abreast of the latest technologies so we can maximise the change of detecting eye disease as early as possible. With many eye diseases, earlier detection leads to better outcomes, so we have invested in equipment such as an OCT (Optical Coherence Topographer) and VFA (Visual Field Analyser) to aid in detection.
